Samsung N120-13GBL 10.1-Inch Blue Netbook - Up to 8.3 Hours of Battery Life Immediately

I bought the N120-13GBL after about a month of looking at the various netbooks. From what i could tell, the netbooks are like ice cream ,everyone has a different preference. This netbook is AWESOME!!. I use it for my college classes: writing papers, sufing the web, and even watching YouTube videos on my couch. The battery (mine has the 5900 mAh) lasts about 6-9 hours! I have a Toshiba 15.4" laptop that only lasts about 2 1/2 hours. The keyboard is very good, but keep in mind that it is a little smaller (about 97%) that a normal notebook keyboard, but very usable. The sound is very good, better than my Toshiba 15.4" notebook. The matte finish of the cover makes it easy to grip. The screen is beautiful, I know some people complain about the glossy screen. But, every laptop i have seen or used in the last 4 years has had a glossy screen. So, to me it is a non-issue. I can have several tabs open at the same time and the N120 does not seem to slow down. I even have MS word and the internet browser open at the same time and it seems to go pretty quick. All in all, in most common stuff, it is had to notice the speed difference between this and my dual core laptop. the best part of the Netbook is it portability. I can easily put it in my backpack, and it doesn't weigh it down or hog up all the room like my 15.4" notebook does. The N120 is a little smaller than a 3 subject spiral notebook, but about 2 twice as wide. Also the weight is terrific. I know it weighs about 2.5 to 3 lbs, but it feels like next to nothing. Especially, when compared to some of my text books!

All in all, I would highly recommend the Samsung N120-13GBL netbook. Its light, got a great screen, great keyboard, and incredible battery life!!! It will do most of the stuff that my 15.4" notebook will do. The notebook is getting dusty, since I only use it about 2 twice per week now. I seem to reach for my Blue Samsung more often! The notebook is jealous of the netbook.

I know there are some netbook haters out there. if you want a high powered, desktop replacement, portable notebook computer. Buy a $1500+ notebook. Most people just surf the web anyway (web surfing doesn't require a super computer). If you want a small, light, long lasting, portable computer. The Samsung N120 is the ticket.

One last note, the difference between the Blue N120 and the Black and White N120's is the battery. The Blue has a higher capacity 5900 mAh (6-9 hours) vs the Black and Whites 5200 mAh (5-7) battery life. You can extend battery life by turning the bluetooth off, this will add about an hour to the battery life.Get more detail about Samsung N120-13GBL 10.1-Inch Blue Netbook - Up to 8.3 Hours of Battery Life.

ASUS Eee PC 2G Surf (7-Inch Display, Intel Mobile Processor, 512 MB RAM, 2 GB Hard Drive, Linux Preloaded) Galaxy Black Best Quality

i'm actually on my cute lil asus now, and it's really great to just carry around. i do have my dislikes though, which are pretty much the same complaints as everyone else's. like the keys are pretty small, even for me, and i have teenie fingers, lol [size 5 ring size, lol!].

i also have issues with the games sometimes. like the solitaire games will SOMETIMES tell me if there is no chance of winning. and the frozen bubble SOMETIMES doesn't play the music all static-y. and the penguin racer is fine... it's just nearly impossible to beat, and i think that's why i hate it, lol. potato guy is pointless, unless my 2 year old niece wants a giggle:)

also the screen size can be irritating, because you pretty much have to scroll online for everything.

pretty much though, i love it for it's cute color [i got pink!] and the convenience of online usage and game fun. i'd recommend this to anyone who isn't a computer nerd and needs it for anything but the internet.Get more detail about ASUS Eee PC 2G Surf (7-Inch Display, Intel Mobile Processor, 512 MB RAM, 2 GB Hard Drive, Linux Preloaded) Galaxy Black.

Toshiba Mini NB205-N330WH 10.1-Inch Frost White Netbook - 9 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Order Now

I've been browsing around for awhile in search of the right netbook and I finally (sorta) settled down on this Toshiba mini NB205 N330. I say sorta because I actually haven't bought it yet but I've tested it--as well as other netbooks--numerous times whenever I visit an electronics store.

A great feature of this netbook is its keyboard. I'm mainly using this netbook to takes notes in class and the buttons are the right size for my fingers which makes typing a whole lot more efficient and satisfying. I find myself making less typos with this extra space in between each button than when I was testing with other netbook keyboards.

There is a ~$20 difference between the Toshiba N225 and N330. And that's because the N330 can hold 250GB (instead of 160) of HD space and supports bluetooth.

Currently, all netbooks won't have any other versions of Windows 7 other than the Starter so its unfair to rate a netbook off of its OS. Theres a hidden link on Microsoft's website that allows students to order Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional for only $30 (offer expires January 3rd I think) so take advantage of that if you're a student. I've already ordered mine so I won't have to deal with Windows 7 Starter when I get my netbook.

This netbook is a chip away from being perfect only because the speaker is terribly placed underneath the netbook which makes very poor sound. I really hope Toshiba is listening to reviews and fix the speakers.

One more downside is the battery pack that sticks out a good inch or 1/2 inch. That means you won't be able to get a 10.2in case but rather go for something a little bigger OR a 10.2in case with a flap top.

As for now, I will await for Black Friday and pray that this NB205 N330 will be on sale that very day. Even better would be if they release another version with improved sound and slap it on sale for black friday. Discount HP Mini 5101 FM956UT 10.1-Inch Netbook - Up to 4.5 Hours of Battery Life

>> Tuesday, December 15, 2009

I just love this little guy. My old laptop had issues with its motherboard, and I wanted to get something as a backup while it was being repaired so I bought this particular machine.

I must say I really love it. The quality of materials is excellent, and I personally feel that they are better than my dell xps laptop.

For my purposes such as internet surfing, and watching netflix movies, and talking on Skype with video it works awesome. The camera is particularly good, the microphone is good too.

Although the product says Vista Business, it actually has installed XP with a Vista update disc (which I immediately tossed- as I imagine it would be slow on this machine).

XP loads superfast and works great. I am hopeful the stripped down Windows 7 basic will work equally well when released, otherwise I'm quite happy with XP- it's stable and quick.

This laptop is so lightweight that I can just carry this little fellow everywhere with me around the house.

My wife really loves this computer to, and lately I've had some difficulty getting my hands on this guy because she wakes up before I do, and I'm stuck with my iphone or old laptop.Get more detail about HP Mini 5101 FM956UT 10.1-Inch Netbook - Up to 4.5 Hours of Battery Life.

Buying Lenovo S10-2 10-Inch White Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

I purchased my Lenovo S10-2 in April '09. I've found it to be surprisingly useful. At home I use it extensively to surf the net and keep up on email. I no longer carry my larger laptop back and forth to work. I've loaded the little S10 with all of the same software as I use on my primary computer (MS Office Professional, Visio, Project, Adobe, etc.). It's only a little slow to load the applications and works great in a pinch. I'd make it my primary computer, but the screen is too small and scrolling back and forth all day can be tiring. Still, it's very handy for travel or when I don't want to carry my larger laptop. It fits easily in my carry on and add about the same weight as a book. Keep in mind you'll need also carry an external drive if you want to watch DVDs. Get more detail about Lenovo S10-2 10-Inch White Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Purchase Dell Inspiron Mini IM10-USE022AM with Integrated TV Tuner - Ice Blue

A Great Investment. Whats with the Bad Reviews?, September 10, 2009

I just purchased my Dell Mini 10 (Blue Cover) and I have to say that this was one of the best investments I ever made. If you think you are getting a high end laptop for the price of three-hundred bucks, then you are sorely mistaken. This is basically a smart phone PDA increased to the size of a ten inch screen with a keyboard attached. Most of the bells & whistles are intact.

At first it took me some time to get use to the screen. Websites are slightly altered due to the 10 inch screen, so and with the tool bar on top that includes (File, Refresh, etc) it can seem like there's hardly any room to view webpage's, but you'll get use to it. Viewing any site that you would on a regular desktop will have certain parts of the page moved around when viewing it on your netbook & this is to be expected because of the size.

I know everyone is complaining about the keypad, but it's really not that bad. It does take a few tries before you realized what works best for you. I've learned from having a Dell Studio Laptop that the best thing to do is just utilize the free space as a mouse and click. Don't bother trying to hit down on the key, but just double tap on the keypad to pick a selection. If you don't, you will find the experience of navigating through websites, typing a document on word, etc to be a horrendous experience.

Otherwise, if you are looking for a great small compact netbook to stay connected to the web, check email, browse a few sites - then this is the netbook for you. There isn't much customization due to the small size of the netbook that feels very light just a little under three pounds and practically smaller and skinnier then the new Twilight book. I would have it ordered it on amazon, but it was cheaper through Dell.

Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase because it's a great investment for anyone who needs internet access on the go. The only complaint I have is the price. I know its three-hundred, but I own a regular laptop with a 15 inch screen & that HP was only three-hundred. Sure, it was not a high end groundbreaking laptop, but it does the trick & power wise, it's stronger than the mini. I really feel the price point should drop by hundred bucks. Otherwise, this is still a great PC tool to have.

Pros:
Light weight (Less then three pounds)
Customizable Cover with different colors
Windows XP (Thank GOD - Vista is so WHACK)
Keyboard is 90% size of a real keyboard
Wi-Fi
3 USB slots
160GB Memory
1.66 GHZ
1GB RAM

Cons:
A bit pricey IMO - It really should be two hundred & under
No DVD Slot Get more detail about Dell Inspiron Mini IM10-USE022AM with Integrated TV Tuner - Ice Blue.

Order MSI Wind U100-451US 10-Inch White Netbook - 3 Cell Battery

>> Saturday, December 12, 2009

I purchased the MSI Wind brand Netbook originally because the keyboard is one of the very few that is large enough for my fingers to comfortably navigate. I have used it as a portable in the park, in cars, and on airplanes with great success.
I also use it with SKYPE when I am on the road to keep in touch with my family. The 802.11n Wi-Fi is fantastic, the built-in Bluetooth and the video camera are great for video conferencing.
The MSI runs all my work applications and despite the small main screen (perfect for airplane use) runs a projector with ease from the Aux video output port at full projector resolution and with video presentations.
Other reasons I purchased the MSI Wind are that it is easy and inexpensive to expand the memory to 2 GB, install an upgraded Hard Drive, and it also supports other Operating Systems such as Linux and OS-X.
Complaints about the MSI Wind are just 2.
1) The toggle bar for mouse buttons gets a little hard to use during a session because the springs are fairly stiff to prevent accidental clicking. Difficult balance on any trackpad. So I carry a small USB wireless mouse at all times.
2) I wish the Fn (Function Button) was moved one key toward the space bar like all my other laptops from HP and Dell.

ASUS 7" Eee 8GB PC Netbook Computer with Windows XP - Galaxy Black This instant

>> Wednesday, December 9, 2009

I really enjoy using this this netbook! I have had several of the acer and hp netbooks, but at 10.2 inches screens and approaching over 3 lbs I think they are getting away from the spirit of this laptop category. I primarily use this to look up things on the net through its built in WiFi and my wife and I have used it with great success on a recent trip to San Francisco tethered to my SPRINT phone as a modem. The keyboard is a bit cramped but I generally am not typing more than 10 words at time so its generally not an issue for me.

PROS:
- Tiny Size !!!
- Did I mention it's T I N Y ?? Barely bigger than a VHS tape.
- Featherweight at 1.9 lbs
- Good battery life for its size (I get 3-4 hrs)

CONS:
- Small Screen ( Non Standard Resolution, wish it supported 1024*768)
- Keyboard is small and can be a challenge for people with truck driver hands like me.
- Its not a speed demon, I wouldn't open up more than 6 tabs in FIREFOX

Save Sony VAIO VPC-W121AX/T 10.1-Inch Brown Netbook - Up to 7 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)

>> Saturday, December 5, 2009

There should be 4 gig of RAM. I don't want the battery. Why not sell a notebook size without battery?

The following comment about not making any sense. Just for your benefit I will expand.

A laptop will met all my computer requirements. There is no need today for a tower and all the other parts. The computer is always used where there is power 110V, even in the car when I travel.

I repeat a laptop will do all that a desktop can do, why not lower the price and sell without the expensive battery. This would also leave more room for additional hard drives.

How is that for sense?Get more detail about Sony VAIO VPC-W121AX/T 10.1-Inch Brown Netbook - Up to 7 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter).

Discount Sony VAIO VPC-W121AX/W 10.1-Inch White Netbook - Up to 7 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)

Got this computer today. When I installed the battery, I noticed it sticks 1 inch below the netbook, making it look terrible and bulky. I contacted Sony and they confirmed the netbook ships with the high-capacity battery. Too bad none of the pictures on Amazon (or the Sony website) show the ugly battery!
Promptly returned it to Amazon for a refund. Will have to shop for some other netbook, I guess....Get more detail about Sony VAIO VPC-W121AX/W 10.1-Inch White Netbook - Up to 7 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter).

Cheap Viliv Promotion Pack S5 Premium-HP 4.8-Inch Net-Tablet PC

I've been using the Viliv S5 for several months and absolutely love the thing. What makes the Viliv S5 more appealing than other devices its' size is that it runs Windows XP - it's regular computer in a 5" form factor. The touch interface that Viliv has put together, from the iCube navigation, to the FastWeb browser make it a joy to use with touch.

The best thing about the Viliv S5 is how long the battery lasts - about 6 hours. It lasts long enough to take from home, bring to work, and then bring home again. The built-in GPS works great too - streets and trips, StreetDeck, etc would be great GPS apps for the Viliv S5.

Here is a quick video I shot while taking the Viliv S5 on a mountain bike trip. I used it play music while I biked. As you'll see in the video, it flew out of my saddle bag after I hit a bump. I was amazed that it turned back on, and except for a few minor scratches, it still works flawlessly.

Buying MSI U210-006US 12.1-Inch White Netbook - 5 Hour Battery Life

>> Thursday, December 3, 2009

This was a great but on my part. The battery life makes this thing great for taking notes in classes. The keyboard on this is really quite and easy to use, if you have never used a netbook keyboard it will take a good day or two to get used to how close the keys are.

the only thing that feels a bit ironic is the tease of an HDMI port on the side, with a 1.6 ghz CPU there is no way you can decode videos in HD, MSI should of just made it S video. but it does more than I was expecting all in all, and it makes a great 250GB mp3 player XDGet more detail about MSI U210-006US 12.1-Inch White Netbook - 5 Hour Battery Life.

Buy MSI Wind U120-001US 10-Inch Gray Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

I own a treatment center of kids... and use lots of computers for the kids. I bought 3 of these... the screens cracked within 3 months on one and within 6 months on another. I also own 3 Apple macbooks, 1 dell laptop and two IBM thinkpads... all for several years without any problems... MSI said I caused the damage and wanted to charge for the repairs... Better to buy something new that will last for more than a few months. Get more detail about MSI Wind U120-001US 10-Inch Gray Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Purchase Viliv Promotion Pack S5 EXP P 4.8-Inch Net-Tablet PC

>> Wednesday, December 2, 2009

I have been looking for a device like this for a long time. I need to periodically do some work related things when I am out of the office and I did not want to lug my laptop around everywhere. This device is perfect for a jacket pocket, bag, purse, or car.

Smartphones like BlackBerries, IPhones, and Samsung and LG devices would not work because some of the applications I need are PC only. I was also unsatisfied with some of the smartphone web experiences as many smartphones still only support Flash-lite, not the full version of Flash, and still seem unable to handle a variety of websites. I also wanted to not only be able to read and respond to emails, but also to open and edit attachments as I would be able to on any desktop or laptop computer.

The Viliv is a fully customizable PC. You can pretty much install anything on the Viliv that you can install on a regular PC. I run XP, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite CS, FireFox, and Chrome and they all run as quickly as they do on my Core 2 Duo XP desktop. However, the Adobe Creative Suite is version CS (~2003), and not one of the more processor intensive recent versions.

The onscreen keyboard is not only customizable, but you can replace it entirely with one of the numerous third party options out there. I found the default on screen keyboard to be okay, as some of the more frequently used keys (like numbers and dashes) require typing a mode button before the number keys appear in place of some letter keys. I replaced the default keyboard with the Zero Weight Keyboard, a full screen transparent keyboard that I have found very user friendly. I can thumb type emails at reasonable speeds with minimal errors.

You can use WiFi or WWAN to connect to the Internet. My only complaint about the device is that it is not also a phone. I suppose I could run Skype on it, but I still would not be able to receive calls easily. Although the screen is high resolution, the screen is relatively small compared to a desktop/laptop and you may need to customize some XP settings prior to using the device (like setting Icons and Font sizes to large). Otherwise, the device feels solid and well built and is perfect for those who want an extremely portable PC. Get more detail about Viliv Promotion Pack S5 EXP P 4.8-Inch Net-Tablet PC.

Where To Buy Acer Aspire One AOD150-1669 10.1-Inch Seashell White Netbook - 6.5 Hour Battery Life

>> Tuesday, December 1, 2009

I saw this same netbook "On Sale" for 3 dollars more at a local store. It only had the
3 cell battery. This one has the 6 so it lasts a good long time. That was my main reason for buying it here. I already new this machine was a good price for the money as long as
you get the 6 cell battery. If you can get the 3 cell at a really good price (ie <250) then
thats ok.Get more detail about Acer Aspire One AOD150-1669 10.1-Inch Seashell White Netbook - 6.5 Hour Battery Life.

Shop For Sony VAIO VPC-W111XX/T 10.1-Inch Brown Netbook - 2.5+ Hour Battery Life

I bought several netbooks and this by far is the best. I would prefer black, but I choose the white over brown. It won't be long when they add a CD drive. If you need additional storage space an external hard drive will suffice. I am a name brand person and Sony held their name on this one. Its worth the extra few dollars. The hard drive and picture quality is superb. I do alot of traveling and this little bad boy is a perfect size for that and the appearance is none other, hey its a VAIO! I am a U.S. Contractor and taken this to the sand box (Iraq) and its been outside the wire many times and its built tough like the MRAPs. I do suggest buying a HP sleeve for it cause it fits perfectly and the neoprene is thicker. Get more detail about Sony VAIO VPC-W111XX/T 10.1-Inch Brown Netbook - 2.5+ Hour Battery Life.
